Taking the basics makes me want to learn more!
I began taking a basic yoga class with Shannon in September 2013 and have been actively practicing ever since. I have taken yoga classes over the past year from Shannon. I have learned a great deal from her. She does a good job of modifying poses for all levels so that it is always challenging. Patient and gentle yogini
I was very fortunate to have Shannon as my first yoga teacher. The biggest obstacle for me was to learn to leave my ego at the door; yoga is not about perfection but instead about practice. Her first rule is do no harm to your body (ahimsa). She taught me also that yoga is also about the breath (Ujjayi) – remember to breathe! Wonderful Yoga Teacher!
Shannon is a great yoga teacher. She really cares about her clients and wants them to receive a great workout without hurting themselves. Before I met Shannon I had a lot of lower back and hip pain. Now after 4 months of classes I rarely have any pain. I have never felt better physically or mentally. I love that when I attend her class I feel comfortable enough to do the class at my level without any judgment. Workplace Chair Yoga
This is a wonderful class for those seeking to get some mid-day relief to a busy stressful work day. Shannon is a very knowledgeable Yoga instructor who takes the time to learn each students’ limitations. She incorporates new poses into each class and shows how they can be adapted for use at our desks. She makes the class fun and relaxing. This class is the perfect alternative for those who cannot attend a full Yoga class but who still want the benefits that Yoga offers. – F.
I have been in Shanins Fairway Chair Yoga class since she started instructing there. She is very aware that most of the “students” are older and need to temper their excercise with common sense. She has helped me with my breathing problem. Shanin is cognizant of all the people in the class and their special needs and limitations. Wonderful way to learn
I started doing yoga for the very first time in January 2013. After meeting Shannon and making it through my first basic yoga class I was hooked!! Her gentle, yet encouraging way of teaching made me concentrate only on myself and not what others were doing around me. Discovering yoga with Shannon
Shannon teaches chair yoga and yoga/meditation for older adults. I like her approach so much that I take two of her classes per week. She knows about body mechanics and anatomy and explains them as she teaches, which is very helpful. She guides each student to expand his or her range of motion. I didn’t know that yoga would help me so much, physically and mentally. Count me as a fan of Shannon’s gentle and encouraging style. – R.

I have been Shannon’s student for 2 years. Shannon is an excellent teacher, very patient, gives all her students in class individual attention. She is friendly and quite knowledgeable. Her yoga philosophy is that of Ahimsa- “to do no harm”. She practices Ahimsa in her classes so that her students don’t injure themselves and she helps ease your body into the poses over a period of time rather than force you into one.
